An enduring symbol of adventure
2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the Seiko diver’s watch. Since creating Japan’s first diver’s watch in 1965, Seiko has continuously advanced in diver’s watchmaking to meet the demands of professional divers worldwide. This pioneering dive watch pursued reliability and safety, paving the way for many future innovations.
The wave mark is a symbol of Seiko diver’s watches and a testament to their high reliability and exceptional technology. It is engraved on the case back of all Seiko diver’s watches. This new Seiko Prospex 1968 Diver's 60th Anniversary GMT Limited Edition re-interprets this iconic symbolism with a dynamic embossed dial pattern inspired by rough seas, which changes its appearance depending on the viewing angle.
The blue-dialed model reflects the design of the 1968 diver’s watch and is powered with the GMT Caliber 6R54. Its water resistance has increased to 300 meters compared to the 200-meter resistance of previous diver’s watches equipped with Caliber 6R54. Also new to this reference is an updated Prospex bracelet clasp, which allows a 15mm adjustment range, and can be easily extended or shortened in six 2.5mm increments by pressing side buttons. This ensures a comfortable fit over a wetsuit or over a bare wrist, adapting to changes in wrist size caused by diving pressure or the weather.
